Making a Medium Present microbial methods for Vibrio cholerae require advanced training and specialized equipment; these methods may not be appropriate for low-resource settings most vulnerable to cholera outbreaks. Through my thesis research, I developed a new selective broth culture medium appropriate for use in the Aquagenx Compartment Bag Test (CBT) for field detection of V. cholerae.
